Cal Tillman, who describes himself as a conservative, battled to protect his town, Dish, Texas, from the devastating health and environmental effects of hydraulic fracturing (fracking) for natural gas. Hear Tillman’s story, profiled in the movie Gasland.

Tens of thousands of fracking wells are planned in Michigan. The technology is exempt from certain water protection regulations, raising concerns about the ability to assure its safety, and the health of the Great Lakes watershed.

This event is sponsored by Don’t Frack Michigan, with the Friends of the Jordan, Trout Gorillas, NMEAC, FLOW for Water, WATCH, MCWC, Food and Water Watch, North Woods Yoga, Health Awareness Center, and the Gaylord 99%.
